Apple has revealed its 6th generation iPod nano, which has been outfitted with just about the boldest redesign the portable media player has experienced yet.  It’s  replaced with a touchscreen interface and a shuffle-esque square form factor. It’s now 46 percent smaller and 42 percent lighter. Hard volume buttons on the side and a clip on the back provide the minimal hardware accouterments to that multitouch touchscreen, while the inside provides enough juice for 24 hours of audio playback.

He he ! wait wait.. May be the user’s will think the author of onekerala.com gone mad,

Some crazy developers have created a version of the Android operating system which is compatible with Nokia’s Internet tablets and devices.  The Project is Called NITDroid, the developers have created a compatible version of the Android operating system for Nokia’s internet tablets. The result is a device that has the body of Nokia and the brains of Android.

“Nokia’s hardware is fantastic but their software is suboptimal, slow, buggy and not always the best user experience,” says Terrence Eden, a U.K.-based mobile consultant who installed Android 1.6 “Donut” on his Nokia N810. “Android is a much better software environment for Nokia hardware than what Nokia provides.”

For those who are willing to take the risk, Eden has written a step-by-step guide on his blog for getting Android on the N810.

Mobile phone maker Wynncom today said it has launched a new handset with Hindi QWERTY keypad, This makes it easier for a user to connect especially in the small towns and villages where one can express oneself in Hindi without any language restrictions.

Amongst the other key features , Y 45 has a dual SIM (GSM+GSM) 262 TFT colour screen, supports social networking sites like Opera Mini, Snaptu, Nimbuzz, Facebook, Twitter, MSN etc and also has a Geographic location finder – Saarthi,

The handset equipped with 1.3 MP camera, 1100 mAh Battery (long lasting battery – Talk time of 7 hours & Standby time of 250 Hrs), expandable memory up to 8 GB, Bluetooth with A2DP, E mail facility, PC Sync, Video recording and Playback.

This mobile phone is available just at  R 3395.

TRAI has recommended that fixed line telephones should have 10-digit numbers like mobile phones to avoid a situation in which there are not enough numbers due to growing demand.

TRAI has called for the new phone number system to be implemented by December next year.

However, TRAI said, “The existing 10-digit numbering scheme for mobile telephony should be continued to avoid inconvenience to the customers that would accompany any move to shift to an 11-digit numbering scheme,” in a statement.

In January this year, TRAI had initiated a consultation process on several important issues related to numbering resources, as it was anticipated that there would be a shortage of numbers to be allocated given the explosive growth in the Indian telecom industry.

“Both fixed line and mobile phones will have a 10-digit number. This would make available enough numbers to cater to expansion of existing services and introduction of new services for the next 30-40 years,” TRAI added.

The move will also facilitate extension of number portability to fixed lines, it added.

The authority said that while all preparations for extension of the 10-digit numbering scheme to fixed lines will be complete by September 30, 2011, the actual migration should be completed by December 31, 2011.

Facebook grabs Hot Potato

Posted on August 21, 2010 by Cyber Yogi | No Comments

Facebook has acquired Hot Potato in a move that could help further its move into location-based services.

Hot Potato announced the deal on its blog Friday but did not reveal the purchase price.

Hot Potato aims to let people share what they’re doing with friends and connect with other people doing the same thing. People visit the page and choose the beginning of a sentence like “I’m attending…” or “I’m listening to…” and then fill in the rest of the sentence. They then join a group of people who have posted similar ideas. The group can share photos and videos and ask each other questions.

Users can also create whole new categories by writing an entire sentence following “I’m.”

Hot Potato has stopped signing up new users and its existing users will have to download any information and content they want to keep. In about a month, Hot Potato plans to delete all user data and won’t transfer it to Facebook.

The service was already linked to Facebook in that Hot Potato can look for friends who use the service through their Facebook logins. People can also link their profiles to their Facebook and Twitter accounts.
